The road to Omni La Costa is heating up.
Conference championships are now underway as men’s and women’s teams battle for automatic bids into the NCAA postseason, which consists of six, 54-hole regionals featuring a combined 29 conference champions and 43 at-large teams for the women and 28 conference winners and 53 at-larges for the men.
We’ll track all of the conference championships below:
Women
Conference USA
April 14-16, World Golf Village, St. Augustine, Florida
Team champion: Western Kentucky
Individual champion: Sydney Hackett, Western Kentucky (won playoff)
Potential at-large teams: None
Need to know: Hackett defeated New Mexico State’s Emma Bunch, a two-time winner this season, in a playoff, though Bunch should qualify for an NCAA regional individually. The Hilltoppers, who won a school-record three times during the regular season, now have their first-ever conference title and NCAA regional berth.
American Athletic
April 14-16, Southern Hills Plantation, Brooksville, Florida
Team champion: Tulsa
Individual champion: Romaine Masserey, Tulsa
Potential at-large teams: East Carolina
Need to know: This is Tulsa’s first AAC crown since 2021, though the Golden Hurricane are looking to advance to the NCAA Championship for the third straight season.
SoCon
April 14-16, Solina GC, West Columbia, South Carolina
Team champion: Furman
Individual champion: Audrey Ryu, Furman
Potential at-large teams: None
Need to know: Furman has now won eight of the past 10 SoCon titles, though the Paladins have not advanced to nationals since 2018.
Southland
April 14-16, Kissing Tree GC, San Marcos, Texas
Team champion: Texas A&M-Corpus Christi
Individual champion: Zoe Pinillos, Augusta
Potential at-large teams: None
Need to know: TAMU-CC is headed to its second NCAA regional in program history, first since 2009, after a 17-shot victory over Houston Christian.
SWAC
April 14-16, RJT Golf Trail at Oxmoor Valley, Birmingham, Alabama
Team champion: Alabama State
Individual champion: Salma Ibrahim, Southern
Potential at-large teams: None
Need to know: Alabama State won by 20 shots over Southern and is headed to NCAA regionals for the first time since 2016.
Big West
April 13-15, Spanish Trail CC, Las Vegas
Team champion: Cal State-Fullerton
Individual champion: Kaitlyn Zermeno Smith, Cal State-Fullerton
Potential at-large teams: UC Davis
Need to know: Fullerton, ranked No. 76 in the country, will likely steal an at-large bid after running away with the school’s first Big West title since the program was reinstated in 2009. It’s the Titans’ first NCAA regional qualification, too, as the school shuttered women’s golf for over two decades after the 1985-86 season. UC Davis, 14 shots back in second, should get an at-large bid, though at No. 56 in the country right now, it will be close.
ASUN
April 13-15: Hampton Cove, Owens Cross Roads, Alabama
Team champion: Florida Gulf Coast (won playoff)
Individual champion: Lousiane Gauthier, FGCU
Potential at-large teams: None
Need to know: FGCU and Stetson finished 54 holes tied at 41 over, four shots ahead of Austin Peay, before the Eagles won in a four-hole playoff for not only their first conference title in school history but also their first ever NCAA regional berth. Gauthier is also FGCU’s first ASUN individual medalist, winning by four shots.
Ohio Valley
April 13-15, RTJ Golf Trail at The Shoals, Muscle Shoals, Alabama
Team champion: Morehead State
Individual champion: Tuva Isebakke, Morehead State
Potential at-large teams: None
Need to know: This is the third OVC title in school history, following 2011 and 2023, and Morehead won this one by 29 shots over Little Rock.
Missouri Valley
April 13-15, Annbriar GC, Waterloo, Illinois
Team champion: Illinois State
Individual champion: Jillian Cosler, Bradley
Potential at-large teams: None
Need to know: The Redbirds won a second straight MVC title, and they did it by 31 shots and an MVC-record 874 winning score. It’s also the 16th MVC title in program history, more than twice as much as anybody else.
Northeast
April 11-13, Kingsmill Resort, Williamsburg, Virginia
Team champion: Fairleigh Dickinson
Individual champion: Morgan Horrell, Howard
Potential at-large teams: None
Need to know: FDU birdied the 18th hole three times, including the winning birdie from Apichaya Chirakunakorn, to edge Howard, which entered the final round four shots clear, by a shot. This is the Knights 10th NEC title.
Coastal Athletic Association
April 11-13, The Clubs at St. James, Southport, North Carolina
Team champion: College of Charleston
Individual champion: Hannah Altman, UNCW
Potential at-large teams: Campbell
Need to know: UNCW threatened to be an at-large bid stealer, entering the final round tied with Charleston. But the Cougars would edge the Seahawks by three shots thanks to five birdies on the last three holes to earn their CAA-record sixth conference title, third in the last four seasons.
